Standing in the Galerie Vivienne, in the second district of Paris,
WOLFF & DESCOURTIS
is proud to have a shop in the beating heart of Paris.

“The fabric emporium Wolff & Descourtis” THE GUARDIAN

If you ever paid us a visit and been welcomed by a mosaic of the season’s shawls, hanging on the walls from floor to ceiling, the décor of papier-maché elephants and cardboard wolves popping out of the shawls to greet you, softly drawing you closer to the three huge draper’s tables that carry the entire collection, waiting to be unfolded in front of you, you will know about the particular magic of our famous boutique.

The company’s history is everywhere on display with the samples
cabinet, weighing machine, tailor’s scissors and shuttles.
Because the boutique has been preserved over time,
you will know about the in-store authenticity that transports you
back to the 19th century with its old wood floor, cast iron columns,
and high ceiling with a maze of stucco where stands, so proud of
their world changing invention, the gas light fixtures!

Like Walter Benjamin’s flâneur, you will picture the
redingotes, the crinolines and cashmere shawls
wandering up and down our staircase.
